United Kingdom FlagBritish RallyCross: Lomax Secures Double Hat Trick in Scotland

British RallyCross: click to enlargeBaxi Avanti Xtreme RX driver Craig Lomax (Knottingley) claimed his third consecutive victory of 2014 at Round 3 of the British Rallycross Hot Hatch Championship in association with the Shannon Group, held at the Knockhill Circuit in Scotland to extend his championship lead. Giving him a substantial lead in the Championship

With a fastest time in practice, and three fastest heat times meaning he qualified on pole for the A final, it was plain sailing for Lomax, who then followed his qualifying up with a dominant performance in the Final claiming his third consecutive victory in 2014, and his hat trick of victories and the Scottish venue

Baxi Avanti Xtreme RX driver Craig Lomax can’t believe how things have gone so far this year,

“We wanted a strong start to the year, but the start we have had has been fantastic, it’s not been easy due to sustaining damage at the first two rounds, but I’m proud of all the Baxi Avanti team they have worked hard, and to leave here with maximum points in the championship is testament to their hard work. I'm glad we leave here with no damage, that means they can relax before Pembrey in July and I can concentrate on spending some time with my baby girl”

Knockhill was to be the ultimate test for Lomax, with the track testing all the engine developments from over the winter.

“The first two rounds had already proved the engine was strong, but this track was going to be the ultimate test, and I've never travelled so fast up the hill, the engine just kept revving and revving”

It proved all the hard work by Milltek Sport (Derby) on the exhaust system, Impulse Race Engines (Rochdale) and TMS Rolling Roads (Harrogate) was worth it.

Pembrey (July 27th) will prove to be a harder task, with competitors from the Irish Championship expected to travel to come and challenge hard.
