Milltek Announces: Tom Onslow-Cole To Continue as ‘Brand Ambassador’

Milltek announces 2013 brand ambassador: click to enlargeRespected exhaust manufacturer Milltek has announced that, for the 2013 season, it will once again be partnering with BTCC ace, Tom Onslow Cole, to act as the firm’s brand ambassador and development driver.

As the Derbyshire-based firm enters its 30th year of continuous trading, it has chosen to step up its involvement with the popular wheelman, who this year moved over to Tony Gilham’s Team HARD in the British Touring Car Championship - where he will be swapping his RWD S2000 BMW for the FWD delights of an all-new NGTC Passat CC.

In addition to representing the brand in all of his motorsport activities, Onslow-Cole will also extend his role as Milltek’s development driver providing technical feedback and critical test data to assist in product research and development.

2013 looks set to be a busy year for the Surrey ace, with duties as an academy coach for the MSA vying for diary time alongside numerous invitational drives – one of which being a regular guest appearance in the new Milltek Golf Mk6 Race Car – as well as other highly-tuned Milltek development vehicles during the firm’s forthcoming dealer conference for its key foreign partners.

Commenting on re-signing Tom to the Milltek fold, managing director Phil Millington said, 'We’re very pleased to be working with Tom again this season. Not only is he the perfect ambassador for our brand with his clean and competitive style, but we’re obviously thrilled to have him in a VW all year - which will appeal to one of our most important markets. Tom’s input to our design process is invaluable and his ability to really extract the best from our development vehicles means our testing regime should continue to prove our products beyond the realms of most mortal drivers!'.

A clearly elated Tom also added 'Milltek proved to be a perfect partnership for me in 2012, so I’m delighted to be part of their team in 2013. As a great advocate of the UK Motorsport industry, I’m also very proud to be backed by a leading British manufacturer. I’m incredibly serious about my chances for this season, but I think we’re going to have a lot of fun along the way'.

Tom will also be writing exclusive race reports after each BTCC round on the Milltek website, providing a unique insight and a 'behind the scenes' glimpse into Britain’s favourite championship.
